Tomorrow evening, Darlaston Town return to the Paycare Stadium for a Midland Premier League fixture against Romulus.
Fixture was originally ranged to be played at the beginning of December but has since been postponed and rearranged on several occasions. due to the weather and cup commitments of both clubs. Romulus are in a mid-table position occupying 13th place after playing 23 games, winning 7, drawing 5 and losing 11 securing 26 points.
Like many clubs in the Midlands League, they’ve not been able to build up any form and confidence because of the continual postponement of fixtures, in the past month Romulus have had to rearrange games at Uttoxeter Town, and on the last two Saturdays Wolverhampton Casuals , and Tividale respectively. In saying that they have been playing midweek cup football which has seen two loses, firstly at Hednesford Town in the Birmingham Senior Cup and last Wednesday against MFL Division One leaders Hinkley in the MFL League Cup
In recent league fixtures Romulus have lost 4-0 at home to Litchfield City, drawn 1-1 at Stourport Swifts and suffered another heavy loss at home 5-1 Highgate United and another close loss in a 4-3 game against Studley.
But given those recent results, Neil Tooth sides are traditionally very difficult to defeat and nothing should be ready to their recent results and will provide a stern test for Darlaston, especially with the forward line containing Ryan Nesbit, Robert Hannah and Isai Marselia the trio have scored the majority Rom’s goals this season.
Meanwhile, Darlaston, having produced yet, another outstanding performance at Atherstone on Saturday on a ridiculously heavy pitch the clubs Management Team would have been looking at recovery for their players before tomorrow evening game. Several players are carrying knocks and injuries, there are bound to be some last fitness tests and decision needing to be made in selecting tomorrow evenings team.
