After Tuesday’s 4-2 win against Romulus which lifted Darlaston back into the play-off places, tomorrow it is once again another huge game for the club, when Studley visit for 3rd vs 4th placed Midland Football League Premier Division fixture.
Currently the teams are separated by four points, but Darlaston have two games in hand over tomorrow’s opposition.
The clubs met just before the Christmas period at Studley’s Abbeyfield’s Drive home, Studley won 2-0. Due to the weather and host of postponed fixtures Studley played a lot of home games and have six remaining games remaining in the league season excluding tomorrow’s fixture, four our the six games are away from home.
Studley, under the management of Mike Fellows, last six games saw a 4-1 win over Whitchurch Allport at home, followed by a two week break which ended with an important 2-2 home draw against league leaders Congelton.after being 2-0 up early on
A trip to Shropshire followed which ended in a 0-0 draw at Shifnal Town, they were on the road again for their next game at Romulus where they won a close game 4-3. The following Saturday was a big fixture for Studley when the travelled to fellow promotion chasers Stourport Swifts, this time Studley lost 3-2.
Last Saturday they narrowly beat AFC Wulfrunians 3-2 with three first half goals coming from Reiss Taylor-Randell and two from Zack Guinan producing the win, but Studley suffered a blow with Zack Harbon being sent off with a straight red card in the second half and he will miss tomorrows game due to a suspension.
Studley’s powerful forward duo of Zack Guinan and Ramario Martin have scored the majority of the teams goals this season and will offer a serious potent forward threat along with their colleagues.
