Darlaston Town tomorrow evening welcome Stone Old Alleynians once again to the Paycare Stadium, this time for a Second Round J.W. Hunt Cup tie.
The teams recently met at the Paycare Stadium for a Midland Football League Premier game, Darlaston winning 2-1, which coincidentally was the last league game both clubs played.
Since the game, Stone Old Alleynians travelled to the Midlands Football Division One runaway leaders Hinckley AFC for a First Round Isuzu FA Vase match beating them 4-1 in the to book another away trip this time to Boston Town who beat Ingles from MFL Division One. On target for Stone was Lewis Anthony, Matthew Thomas with a brace and William Lloyd finished the scoring from the bench.
In the Midland Football League Cup Stone travelled into Cheshire to league leaders Congleton Town, losing narrowly 3-2, their evening was spoilt by a 94th minute Dan Needham winner when the tie looked set to go to penalties.
Last Saturday’s league game at home to Whitchurch Alport fell foul of the weather, the same as most league games in the division.
Darlaston meanwhile has also played two games, losing to Dudley Town in the Isuzu FA Vase on penalties 5-4 and beating Wombourne Allstars 4-0 at the Paycare Stadium in the first round of the JW Hunt Cup.
