Last weekend saw the sons of First Team Management Duo of Parkes and Moore play against each other, who came out on top?

Last weekend all of Darlaston Town (1874) new Youth teams made their competitive debuts. We have two teams playing in The Troy Deeney Midland Junior Premier League on a Saturday morning kicking off at 10.30 a.m. and six Walsall Junior Youth Football League sides, all playing at various times during each Sunday.

On Saturday, both Midland Junior Premier League Teams, U12 Jaguars & U16 Hornets played at The Paycare Ground, unfortunately both sides losing. Richard Cooper’s U12 Jaguars to Droitwich Spa Boys and Girls Trojans 7-1 and U16 Hornets managed by club Vice Chairman Garry Hale to MYDLH Football Development 4-0. This coming weekend both sides are playing away from home kicking off at 10.30 am with the U12’s Jaguars travelling into Worcestershire to face Nunnery Wood Colts at Battenhall Playing Fields and the U16’s Hornets’ travelling to Nuneaton to take on Hartshill Sports Club.

All six remaining Youth Teams played their first fixture of the season in the Walsall Junior Youth Football League. There were two particular games of interest. In the U14’s Division One both Darlaston U14’s teams, the Vipers and The Warriors, played against each other, the Vipers being the home team and running out 3-1 winners.

The second game of interest was the U13’s Eagles who took on West Bromwich United also at The Paycare Ground, where the first team management due of Andy Parkes and Scott Moore were on opposite sides as their son’s played against each other. Joe Moore playing for the Eagles and Kayden Parkes playing for West Bromwich United Eagles. The Moore’s ended up with the bragging rights after the Darlaston’s Eagles secured a 6-1 win.

James Moore’s U13 Cannons were away at FC Premier Colts in Division Four losing 6-0, Garry Hales U16 Lions played at The Paycare Ground the game ending in a 1-1 draw against FC Premier.

Mark Poole’s U16 Rockets travelled the short distance to Bustleholme Youth Tigers and secured at 2-0 away win, with a Declan Fletcher goal and an own-goal from Bustleholme Tigers. Assists were from Lennon Clarke and Josh Robbins .

This Sunday sees all teams play League games once again with the exception of the U14 Warriors have no allocated game.

At the Paycare Ground Sunday Morning with a 10.30 a.m. kick-off the U13 Cannons entertain a return fixture against FC Premier Colts and in the afternoon the U16 Rockets take on Sutton United Juniors Pumas at 2.15 p.m.

The U13 Eagles, U14 Vipers and U16 Lions all face away trips. The U13 Eagles are playing AFC Willenhall who were beaten 11-0 by Beacon Lions last weekend, the game is taking place at Coseley Leisure Centre kicking off at 10.30 am The U14 Vipers, after weekends win against the Warriors take on Wyrley Juniors Warriors at Wyrley’s Long Lane Ground, also kicking off at 10.30 am. In the U16’s Division One, Gary Hale’s U16 Lions take on Lane Head Chargers at Willenhall E.A.C.T. Academy kicking off at 2.15 p.m.

As most people will hopefully have seen all of the Youth Teams are now shown on the website and in the coming weeks the information contained on each Team will increase, together with squad and team photographs. More players will feature as the managers and coaches provide information after the games have been played.

I hope the weekend review of the youth teams’ games will always be posted on a Thursday. Also, the results and a second review will always be in the home programme when the first team are playing at The Paycare Ground.
