Garry Hales two U16's teams have an unexpectedly quiet weekend

Darlaston Town (1874) new youth section are now two weeks into their season, most sides have played at least one game, the majority two. The club has eight teams two playing in the highly prestigious Troy Deeney Midland Junior Premier League, they are the U12 Jaguars and U16 Hornets.

Last weekend the U12 Jaguars travelled to Worcester in the Troy Deeney Midland Junior Premier League to play out a highly creditable 1-1 draw against Nunnery Wood Colts. This coming Saturday sees a return to The Paycare Ground for the Jag’s as they entertain Littleover Dazzlers Tigers kick off 10,30 am. They will be hoping to go one better than last Saturday and achieve their first win of the season.

The U16 Hornets travelled to Nuneaton to play against Hartshill Sports Club unfortunately the referee abandoned the game because of the behaviour of one of the home sides parents when the scores were level mid-way through the first half. This Saturday will hopefully see the Hornets get their first win of the season when they travel again to play Tamworth’s U16’s.

Sunday saw a mixture of results, and more disappointment for Garry Hales U16’s Lion’s especially after the abandonment of the previous days game. Due to play Lane Head Chargers in a big gane, Lane Head couldn't field a team and therefore the game was postponed, much to the disappointment of everyone connected with the team. This week they will be hoping for some action with the short trip to near neighbours Wednesfield FC.

In the remaining Walsall Junior Youth Football League games the U13 Eagles needed an improved second half performance to produced at 5-1 win at AFC Willenhall, Lemar O’Conner with two goals, Ricardo Green, Joe Moore and Callum Slyde, three of the goals came in the last 10 minutes. This Sunday the Eagles return to The Paycare Ground to face Wednesbury Sports Union Yellow kick off is 10.30 am.

Darlaston U13’s Cannons for some reason they have played the same opposition home and away in the first two games of the season. The first week they travelled to FC Premier, returning on the end of a 6-0 loss. Last Sunday at The Paycare Ground they suffered a 5-0 loss. This coming weekend they travel to Lane Head Jaguars hoping to get their first win.

Last weekend Darlaston’s U14 Warriors were given a free week by the league, whilst the Vipers visited Wyrley Juniors Warriors. Both sides produced an entertaining game, Darlaston taking the lead through a Yohann Bayenana goal. In the 28th minute Wyley got back into the game after the award of a penalty which beat keeper Ryan Horton. Wyrley took the lead early in the second half making the score 2-1. Darlaston equalised in the last 10 minutes with a Tinashe Sibanda effort. Despite laying siege to Wyrley’s area Vipers could not score to secure the win.

Both U14’s teams are in action this weekend at The Paycare Ground, kicking off at 10,30 am. The Vipers entertain Lane Head Tigers, whilst Darlaston’s Warriors play F.C. Perton.

The U16’s Rockets have won one and lost one so far this season. Last Sunday the Rockets went to Sutton United Juniors Pumas hoping to win again, unfortunately they lost 5-2. The scoreline does not do the game justice. Manager Mark Poole and his Assistant Dennis Newton went all out attack for the last 10 minutes when losing 3-2 trying to win the game, Sutton scored two goals on the break in the last 7 minutes to make the scoreline look like an easy win which was not the case. Sunday the Rockets at The Paycare Ground hosting Great Barr Harriers kick off is 2.15 pm.

Please remember entrance to all youth games are free, and the Pavilion is open at weekend games for hot drinks and food such as bacon, egg, sausage sandwiches with cooked breakfasts also available on Saturday's.
