The Citizens are looking to attract youth teams into their organisation to play under the Club’s name from the start of next season

Darlaston Town (1874) Football Club are actively seeking Saturday and Sunday youth teams from the ages of U6-U18 to join the club and play under the Darlaston Town (1874) name at the start of the 2018/19 season.

Officials of The Citizens feel with the First Team now well established, with clear progress both on and off the field, together with our team and facilities building towards competing at Step 5/6 of the National League System that now is an ideal time to build on that with addition of youth teams to the Club Structure.

The Darlaston Town (1874) F.C. Committee will be looking to fill the availability for youth teams as quickly as possible. Established teams wishing to play under the name of Darlaston Town (1874) and demonstrating similar values and priorities as our own will be given preference.

Darlaston Town (1874) Vice Chairman Garry Hale said “We have had a lot of interest from players/coaches and teams already wanting to come into the Club Youth structure and I think it’s mainly because the people are seeing the progression routes that are in place at the Club into adult football. We also have an amazing facility at Bentley Leisure Pavilion which can really benefit teams in terms of fundraising events, social activities and a base from which to build a real solid team. Earlier this season the Club published its second 5-year plan which includes boy’s and girl’s football, goalkeeper summer camps and much more. We are an ambitious club that wants to see the town of Darlaston being represented in the right way”.

All interested teams will all need to be coached by either FA Level 1 or 2 or UEFA Qualified Coaches who hold current DBS certificates. Teams will receive assistance from both the First Team coaching staff and Committee in support of the pathway and style of play we are hopeful will be developed in the youth teams helping players progress through the pathway and become first team players in the future.

All youth team players will receive a season ticket to The Citizens 2018/9 West Midlands Regional League season.
