Please help the club, in attending Saturdays game to make a contribution the British Legion Poppy Appeal

At this Saturday's League fixture against Wellington Amateurs, Darlaston Town (1874) club officials will be making a cheque presentation to officials of the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.

A club spokesman said " Over the last year the club has been saving loose change to donate to the Poppy Appeal. Unfortunately following a recent break in at the club callous thieves stole the container with the Poppy Appeal money. We do not know how much was in it probably about £40-£50. The money and other items taken have not been recovered".

The club Committee and Directors have decided that to replenish the Poppy Appeal money and they will donate at least 10% of all takings from this Saturday's game. the spokesman said " We were not prepared to see the Poppy Appeal lose out on money taken by callous scum. Consequently we agreed that 10% of all gate receipts, programme sales, bar and food sales will be donated. Together with a raffle and donations we anticipate the total will be near to £150 and we have guaranteed this amount to the Appeal"

The presentation will be made to local fundraiser Geoff Johnson and Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal Regional Organiser Alison Bates at this Saturday's West Midlands (Regional) League Division One game.
