Manager Parkes and his squad were closely beaten by WMRL Premier side Wednesfield in another well contested pre-season game.

In extreme heat both teams put on an excellent game as Premier Division Wednesfield edged home by the odd goal in five against Division One Darlaston.

Under new Manager Dan Carter Wednesfield got off to the best possible start when Brad Sharma opened the scoring in the 3rd minute with a brilliant 25 yard curled shot into the top corner beyond keeper Aaron Morris. Darlaston responded and were back on level terms in the 12th minute Danny Mayne picking up a loose ball and drilling home from 20 yards beyond the Wednesfield keeper.

The game settled down with both sides playing some good football , Giles Harvey and Ben Perks were impressive at the heart of the home defence whilst the pace of Sharma kept the visiting defenders on their toes. Anthony Follows drove wide for the visitors before Wednesfield re took the lead in the 27th minute.

Wednesfield had the edge in quality and pace whilst Darlaston's work rate was impressive ensuring an even well contested quality game. Wednesfield netted a third goal early in the second half Brad Sharma scoring his second of the game finishing off a superb four man move with a 6 yard header.

Darlaston regained their composure and halved the home sides lead midway through the second half, Noah Diallo converting with a superbly crafted lob from 28 yards. Adijonah Allen came close to netting the equaliser 10 minutes from time but was denied by the home keeper.

Wednesfield's pace and extra quality just gave them the edge in a deserved victory.
